Hardscape Designer

Location: Remote (Colombia)
Type: Full-Time Contractor
Compensation: USD $2,000 / month

About the Company

We are a U.S.-based outdoor construction and landscape design company specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. Our team focuses on creating premium outdoor environments, parks, and amenity spaces that are both functional and buildable. We transform conceptual ideas into construction-ready plans and collaborate closely with designers, builders, and field crews to deliver exceptional finished spaces.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardscape Designer with strong technical capabilities in creating complete construction plan sets for outdoor environments. This role centers on the design of built spaces—such as plazas, pathways, recreational areas, amenity zones, and family-oriented environments—requiring precise layout, detailing, and drafting aligned with U.S. construction standards.

This is not a planting-focused or urban design role. The primary emphasis is on spatial design, hardscape elements, and producing drawings that can be directly executed by construction teams.

Candidates must be able to independently create full drawing packages that match the quality of the sample plans we provide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop complete construction-ready plan sets, including:

    • Hardscape plans, grading intent, layout, and dimensions

    • Construction details for built elements following U.S. conventions

    • Sections, elevations, diagrams, and supporting technical sheets

    • Site plans and amenity space layouts

  • Translate conceptual sketches into fully buildable plans.

  • Ensure all drawings meet U.S. graphic standards, lineweights, and documentation expectations.

  • Coordinate revisions throughout project development.

  • Produce clean, accurate, and highly detailed CAD drawings suitable for construction crews.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.

  • Proven ability to produce full construction documentation sets independently.

  • 3+ years of experience creating detailed plans for outdoor built environments.

  • Strong mastery of AutoCAD (licensed software provided).

  • In-depth understanding of:

    • Hardscape and amenity space design

    • Layout and dimensioning for built elements

    • Construction detailing and buildability requirements

    • Graphic standards commonly used in U.S. plan sets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on U.S.-based projects or with U.S. design firms.

  • Portfolio including hardscape, parks, recreational spaces, or amenity-focused environments.

Tools & Support Provided

  • AutoCAD license

  • Templates, standards, and plan set references

  • Collaboration with design leadership and construction teams

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Delivering plan sets that are precise, build-ready, and aligned with the standards of our sample drawings.

  • Designing outdoor spaces that are functional, family-friendly, and feasible for construction.

  • Minimizing revisions by producing accurate drawings from the start.
